5.2 Sub-Panel Design | Milled Sub-Panel
The PCBs are placed next to each other with identical spacing using separating slots and cut out of the sub-panel, leaving them connected by a small number of retaining webs. The stability of the sub-panel is ensured by having a sufficient number of evenly distributed retaining webs. The retaining webs are executed according to the customer data provided. Additional recessed separating holes/perforation holes define the predetermined breaking point within the PCB format and reworking with regard to protruding breaking points is not necessary.

Frequently asked questions
Can I supply PCB data with any milling contour?
In principle, this is possible with single boards. However, there are some limitations regarding the choice of milling cutter. Normally, a standard milling cutter with a diameter of Ø2 mm is used. If PCBs require internal milling, slots, or inner edges with a smaller radius than the usual 1 mm, it could result in additional costs. The use of thinner milling cutters makes it more difficult to create the milling stack and the cutter has to run at a reduced feed rate to avoid breakage. We will inform you of any additional costs before confirming the order.
